A Tale of Two Autos

We were wandering around in Noe Valley the other day, and came across this:
Obnoxious

After the jump: the punch line!

And then we saw this:
Less obnoxious

I don't get it, either.

Uhhh...USC grads are obnoxious while UC-Davis grads support CA firefighters? I guess I don't get it either.

I never get those. I need them to be really obvious or I don't get them at all! (I did get the 'obnoxious' one, tho.)

Those spoiled children...

Seriously, sfist Dan, help us out.

I don't get the joke either, but that's a neat lookin Amazon there.

Huh?
You'll have to walk me through this one.

I think Anon is right. USC grads lack social graces while UCDavis folks are good firefighting-supporting people. USC grads would just assume have your house burn down.

OK, I kind of tubed this with the "punch line" bit, I admit. Anon and Mark are on the right track here. Something about these photos fulfills some standard stereotypes. Now go make your own jokes!

There was a point at which I was considering USC, but an uncle in academia pointed out that their initials are generally thought to stand for "Unusually Spoiled Children." Then I got a brochure from USC that admitted as much and added, "so what?"

I admire that kind of chutzpa. But chutzpa wasn't part of my college evaluation process.

Reminds me of a joke I heard growing up in L.A.:

What do you get when you drive your BMW very, very slowly across the USC campus?
A degree.

Forgot to add: U$C sucks. Go Bears! (And go UC-Davis Aggies, our UC buddies!)
