SFist Watches: TV Tonight

Just because all the Fall TV shows have aired their season finales doesn't mean there's nothing to watch; it's just stuff the networks don't think is good enough to air during the "real" TV season. And granted, a lot of it is crap. But sometimes crap can be entertaining--any TV fan can tell you that.
We're not sure if "Creature Comforts," CBS's American version of the British series, will fall into the crap category or not, but its association with the Aardman Animations gives us hope. We're also huge fans of the original series (and the original short that series was based on) but we just wonder if those animated animals will be as funny with American accents. Seriously, a large part of the appeal of the original shorts are those wacky British accents. You can watch a preview of the CBS series after the jump, and a clip from the original series here. Catch the CBS premiere tonight at 8 p.m.
Speaking of wacky British accents, Gordon Ramsey and his "Hell's Kitchen" returns to Fox tonight at 9 p.m. As far as cooking competition shows goes, "Hell's Kitchen" has to be one of the worst. The contestants' cooking skills aren't tested so much as their ability to remain cool while Gordon Ramsey calls them "f*&#ing donkeys!" We have no idea if the format will change at all this season, but last season it seems most of the chefs just had to be able to cook pre-determined menus for a restaurant full of people in an allotted time. Not too compelling. If you prefer your cooking competition shows to require actual talent from their chefs, we suggest just waiting until next week's premiere of "Top Chef."
