SFist Photo: On little cat feet

GO8F5450a.jpg
Fog engulfed San Francisco yesterday, but Sutro Tower and San Bruno Mountain in neighboring San Mateo County managed to rise above it all. The broadcast tower used to be quite an affair when it went digital a few years back with neighbors worried about earthquake safety and EMF emissions. It remains a huge NIMBY issue for some of the people who live underneath.

I wonder...

Has it occurred to the residents of Twin Peaks to join forces with the developers of the proposed super-tall TransBay Tower.

One would think a deal could be cut that increases the height of the proposed skyscraper to a level that makes it's roof (and spire, perhaps) a suitable universal broadcasting platform to REPLACE the monstrosity atop Twin Peaks.

...two birds, one stone - or something like that.

I promise you if they tired to remove the tower now there would be people decrying the loss of an icon
