So, Dude, Forgot Your Keys?

These Google street views have captured all sorts of daily life in our fair city, haven't they! Thanks to Poor Mojo for catching this one.

Oh, man, I feel sorry for that guy. Talk about being immortalized the wrong way. Cue that Daniel Powter "Bad Day" song...

I was the one who spotted that guy originally. A guy commented on my flickr page that he has keys hanging off his belt, which pretty much rules out the "locked himself out theory."

I checked SFPD crime maps (google it since your lame server won't let me post the url),
and there's been no burglary reported there for the past 90 days (although there have been about 100 others in the neighborhood). Of course, since the SFPD doesn't investigate burglaries, there's really no incentive to report them. I think we'd get better results if we outsourced our entire police department to Google. At least we'd get a more user-friendly crime map.

Yesh, Daniel Powter? How's about R.E.M.'s Bad Day?

It's been a bad day.
Please don't take a picture.

Please.

I'd also go with the keys on his belt might not be the right keys (ever kept things on separate keychains?). WRT police reports, while SFPD might not investigate burglaries, insurance companies sure want police reports.

Actually, I think these pictures were taken more than 3 months ago, so the burglary would have dropped off the crime maps. I live a few blocks away from the scene in this picture, and some of the nearby construction has progressed significantly since these were taken.
