not too familiar with sherman alexie, but like most people, i also love to gush about my favorite authors... the unabashed sincerity of this review makes me want to check him out. thanks for sharing!

So happy I made it to the Roxie. I was a bit disappointed that the event did not have a q and a, but I definitely laughed allot. He masterfully engaged the audience with observations taken from his experiences on this book tour. I don’t think just anyone who has an audience can tell a story the way he can:)

Sherman Alexie is a good guy. They made one of his stories into a movie, "Smoke Signals" that I really liked.

The description you give makes him sound more like Andy Rooney than H.L. Mencken. "Did you ever notice how people wearing backpacks on the bus really suck? Me too!" Yeah, we all noticed it. We all noticed a lot of stuff. We just don't normally get an audience. :)
