Newsom missed a photo opt?I guess he really believes in no showing as he has done for the last few years as a Mayor.I just wish he would walk away from politics and let someone get in there who can do it.

The Chronicle reports that Gavin was a no-show and that his aide presented proclamations to the families of the two SF soldiers killed in Iraq: "Conspicuous in his absence was Mayor Gavin Newsom, who was scheduled to attend. His aide, Mike Farrah, spoke on his behalf, and presented the Rose and Moore families with documents declaring the day dedicated to the two fallen soldiers." It's kind of interesting that the Memorial Day event was his only scheduled appearance since last Thursday. Of course he rarely bothers to share his schedule with the public. Does anyone know what he's been up to?
