There was a good turnout at today's Memorial Day Ceremony in San Francisco at the Presidio. It was a somber event. Some more photos after the jump.
The parents of Cpl. Christopher Rose and Pfc. Keith Moore received mayoral resolutions from S.F. Supervisor Sean Elsbernd and Treasurer José Cisneros.

The Chronicle reports that Gavin was a no-show and that his aide presented proclamations to the families of the two SF soldiers killed in Iraq:
"Conspicuous in his absence was Mayor Gavin Newsom, who was scheduled to attend. His aide, Mike Farrah, spoke on his behalf, and presented the Rose and Moore families with documents declaring the day dedicated to the two fallen soldiers."
It's kind of interesting that the Memorial Day event was his only scheduled appearance since last Thursday. Of course he rarely bothers to share his schedule with the public. Does anyone know what he's been up to?
Don't know, Ted, what have you been up to? Oh yeah, using your anarchist thugs to attack women and children on the sidewalks to force your park compromise and keeping the homeless shooting up near schools.
In Ted's defense, the women and children were asking for it.
Newsom missed a photo opt?I guess he really believes in no showing as he has done for the last few years as a Mayor.I just wish he would walk away from politics and let someone get in there who can do it.
