I live in the Sunset, and am a Green, so I disagree with Ed Jew on almost all his positions. But I think it is a strange coincidence that he is being investigated by the FBI at the same time that Jake McGoldrick is facing a recall. Both of these supervisors have been a thorn in the side of Mayor Gavin Newson -- one from the left and one from the right. If both of them were recalled, Gavin could appoint his own people to replace them, giving him a veto-proof Board of Supervisors.

Not only does he not live in his district, but he doesn't even live in the City?? He should be subject to recall, not Jake McGoldrick.

Well, I guess we can go ahead and stick a fork in him. He's done if the Examiner's headline is true. It says "Sunset district representative Ed Jew asserts $20,000 confiscated from safe was for neighborhood improvements." I weep for the fiscal health of the City.

The lede is totally buried in this story. The neighbor of Jew's house in the Sunset says the house has been vacant for two years. The logical conclusion is that Jew lives in his Burlingame home. Is it proper to have a district supervisor who doesn't live in his district?

How does Jew get investigated before Sandoval, who may as well walk around with sacks with dollar signs on it? FBI began a look at Daly a few years back but nothing came of it. Yet.
