The Oakland Wye is a definite choke point for BART. Since all trains travel through that one set of junctions, a problem there can potentially shut down the entire system. There has been talk over the years of building a bypass, potentially serving Jack London Square or Emeryville, but the incredible expense means it will likely never be built.

I didn't experience any delays myself traveling around the East Bay late morning, but it's good to hear they provided updates on what was going on (maybe some day Muni will do the same).

I enjoy riding BART no matter what happens. I Heart BART. Lucky for me, my work has a great non-corporate culture which is results-driven and loosey-goosey at once. As in, European.

For the US to fix its problems, fixing corporations will be the #1 issue. Corporate culture relaxes, less road rage, fewer cars, more smiles, less -isms.
