Day Around The Bay
--Our sources report that only like four non-media people showed up for the anti-Jerry Falwell protest (picture above, and two more pictures after the jump).
--Chris Daly called Newsom campaign manager Eric Jaye an asshole. That's very mayoral of Daly.
--A bunch of assaults in San Francisco, and an SFSU student drops dead on campus. Also, a dead body found on Baker Beach.
--Keenen Ivory Wayans pitches a film studio in West Oakland.
--Ken Garcia mocks San Francisco progressives for not having a mayoral candidate.
--Wrap-ups of yesterday's wi-fi hearings.
--And Dan Noyes reports that SFPD officers are going to ask Newsom to testify under oath about his alcohol and drug use.

I don't think anyone could argue that Supervisor Dalys comment lacks merit, it hits the mark. The mayors own people bragged that "you don't take a knife to a gun fight" so let the fun begin. This asshole Jaye is just another jerk like Louise Renne, Phil Ginsberg or any one of the hundred other white, people of privilege in that (Billionaire Boys Club)administration who look down on everyone else and think that they know what "we need" for our own good. I think in the end I would not have been as kind or restrained as the Supervisor, I applaud him. Chris Daly for Mayor!

Congrats to the community for taking the higher road in failure to gather on Castro to pick the bones of Jerry Falwell. I'm sure there are several disappointed rightwing talk show hosts who already had their righteous dudgeon fired up to blow.
I attend SF State and when I got out of the shuttle ( I was late because of the 30 min BART delay) I saw the paramedics trying to revive the student. They were reviving the student between the library and Franciscan building walkway. From what I saw from the doors entering the reserve book room, the student was breathing on his own. Thats all I know.
