A Day to Reclaim the Streets from the Tyranny of Pedestrians

Of course we own a bike, and we love it. The way it sits beautifully in our garage, seeing us off in the morning as our car zooms away, and welcoming us back in the evening as we pull up the driveway. Wait, you mean you actually expect us to ride it? What do we look like, circus bears?

As Metblogs helpfully reminds us, today's Drive Your Bike to Work Day, a time to air out the pedals and carry our bikes out blinking into the light of day. Roof-racks ahoy! If you don't own a car, don't worry -- you can bring your bike to the carpool. Or if that's not going to work, now's an excellent time to purchase a motor vehicle. Or five! See you on the freeways, bike-owners.

Oh, and also, there's some event on Thursday, too -- something about "bike" and "work" and "to." It doesn't involve combustion engines, so we don't see how it could possibly be important.

Ok - this is not bike related.

I'm sure that you all will be please to get your transit geek on. Finally, MTA posts the shelter designs. Bless their cold stoney hearts.
