When you go to someone's house, do you also make a beeline for their bookshelves and try to wrangle them into lending you some of their books? ("Did you like The Namesake? We heard it was good! No, we haven't gotten around to reading it yet! Are you done with it?") Well, if so, you and us are going to have to arm-wrestle over the selections at SwapSF's big book swap event this Saturday!
SwapSF is one of those freecycle groups that encourages people to trade cool things amongst themselves -- and what's cooler than books? So bring $5 and some books you want to trade for someone else's (or $10 if you just want to pick up some books without giving up any of your own) and stop by The Phritzery this Saturday between noon and 3 at 172 Clara Street (between 4th and 5th, and Clara is between Folsom and Harrison, closer to Harrison). There's free coffee and an open vodka bar once you get there (bring your own cup, or pay a small cup fee), door prizes, and all leftover books will be donated to the Friends of the Public Library and local area schools.
Wanna go? Well, we'll trade some lucky readers a free pass to the festivities in exchange for your filling out this convenient form located immediately below this paragraph! Winners announced Friday morning.

Can someone please bring the entirety of Cerebus? I'm only on book four, and it's getting expensive...
Can't make this one.5th FQT.
I have never been to the Book Swap in SF. I will have to try an make it down for the next one. We are only a few hours away so it is certainly close enough.
For everyone who is going (and of course those who aren't), swing by our site, CurlingUp.com, for some book discussion and a review of the event. I am sure our members would love to hear how things went.
For anyone who is traveling to Austin Tx. this week, check out the Austinist IST List. There are quite a few book and music events this weekend.
