It's Got to Be the Morning After
A's 6 0's 5- Hey, look-- it's another one point run game for the A's. Nick Swish led the way with two home runs, one from each side. The story for the A's was that they once again got great starting pitching but ran into trouble once their bullpen got involved. Sounds familiar, actually. Dan Haren gave up only one run in seven innings, giving him an ERA of 1.41 (one point below Rich Harden's 1.42) but the bullpen, including Huston Street, gave up four runs to make the game closer than it should have been. In fact, the A’s were one questionable base running decision away from having the game tied. The bad news coming out the game is that Rich Harden and Milton Bradley were both put on the DL.
-And finally, the next opponent for the Sharks has been set-- it's the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings were division champs and were points leaders in the Western Conference. Gulp. First game is Thursday night in Detroit.
