City College Locked Down
Sadly, because the Virginia Tech shootings have, in a perverted way, inspired copycats, City College today was shut down because a copy cat threatened to start shooting students.
This all happened this morning around 9 when a student, wearing camouflage (never a good sign), began shouting at about thirty other students in a physics class. Somewhere along the way, he started shouting that he was going to start killing people and the police were quickly called. The campus was locked down and the police arrived within seven minutes and arrested the student.
There's been an increase in these kind of warnings lately, including the bomb threat at Hastings College. Because of this, there's been a huge debate as to whether the video of the Virginia Tech shooter should have been shown as people are afraid it'll inspire people to do, well, things like this.

I am in that class. And this article is making a slightly incorrect statement. Only the Science building was locked down. For about 10-15 minutes or so. And yes, he is wearing camouflage on the daily basis + he always carries around books on Hitler, Nazis and such. He freaked out pacing back and forth, waving his arms infront of the class about a month ago. At this quiet black girl that was sitting next to him. It was hard to make out what he was saying, but it was something about slavery, respect, and how it is all better nowdays. You had to be there - the guy defenetely has some mental issues. Anyway... Having a crazy guy dressed like this, carrying around such a library (lately the book with a swastika on the front page has been accompanied by a newspaper with VA Tech cover article), sitting infront of you in class is not very comforting, that's for sure. One HAS TO BE "mental" to act like he did this morning in the shadow of recent events. I am glad he is gone.
City College has always had freaks like "A" just described. Anyone remember back in the late 80's very early 90's that Vietnamese girl who used to scream and yell between classes and threaten all the Vietnamese gangs were going to kick everyone's ass? She kicked the shit out of a trash can one day. It was one of those old metal ones, and MAN she put a HUGE dent in it. It was comical, and everyone knew to ignore her. She'd rant and rave all over campus all day...every day. Good Times.
