Hey, it's time once again for the Cherry Blossom Festival pre-parade anime costume contest at City Hall in San Francisco. The weather turned out great. Let's meet some of the contestants, after the jump.
Security was tighter than usual, owing to repeated attacks from Mothra and Gamera against cosplay participants last year.

The competition was tough

Blue contacts in the right eye, green in the left. Or vica versa. We forget.

Go go Kamen Rider!

Popular Supervisor Aaron Peskin showed up for the parade (with a totally sick Chevy 454 parade car [which, gentle readers, is not his normal ride, which happens to be a thoroughly modern 2nd-generation Toyota Prius "true" hybrid, AFAWK]) as the contest wound down. See you next year!

I just cant look at Aaron without thinking of him in a speedo :(
Excellent boobage!!! *fap fap fap*
The girl in the hot lace up should be Gavin's new appointments secretary! She's hot!
*fap fap fap*
No, Lace Up Girl is going to chauffeur the Mayor's new hybrid car as soon as she's old enough to get her license. You can't teach an old otaku new tricks.
Nothing says "Earth Day" like a 454-cubic-inch big-block V8 engine.
For the love of god don't give these people any press. They are only a short step removed from furries.
those nerds are FIIIIIINNNNNNEEE!!
What, you got a problem with furries? I think furries are fucking hilarious.
Nice part about the cosplay folks is they actually care how they look, most of the time.
The furries, on the other hand... absolute worst of the geeks there are. You get the impression with them, they're better off under the outfits, hiding the stamp of late-70s DEC hardware they tend to radiate much of the time.
I think the difference with cosplay is most people grow *out* of it. With the furry thing, it's a lot more about most people growing *into* it.
I love cosplay! I see that BART guy everywhere!
