it's Got to Be the Morning After

Warriors 121 Timberwolves 108- With this win, combined with the Clippers loss to the Kings, the Warriors are now in full possession of the last playoff seed. Let that sink in for a second-- the Warriors have a good shot of making the playoffs since the late 19th century. Okay, we exaggerate a bit (a teensy bit) but it feels like it's been that long. Here's the deal: the Warriors have two games left, one against Dallas and the other against Portland. Now Dallas would seem like a tough game, except the Warriors have some weird sort of mojo on the Mavs. Plus the Mavs have long since clinched the top spot in the playoffs and could probably give a sh--. As for Portland, they've been in the Greg Oden sweepstakes for awhile now. In other words, the playoffs are imminently doable.

As for the game, Jason Richardson led the way with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.

A's 5 Yankees 4- How was your weekend, A's fans? After games of eleven innings and thirteen innings, the A's ended their three game series with a three run rally in the bottom of the ninth to win the final game of the series. The A's were once again down to their last at bat with two outs when Todd Walker singled and Jason Kendall walked. Up comes Marco Scutaro and with an 0-2 count, he hits a three run home run with two outs and an 0-2 count off of Mariano Rivera, that Mariano Rivera. Now how about that? We're only into the third week of the season and the A's have played seven one-run games already. And what does taking a 2-1 series from the Yanks mean for the A's? Is it a sign that this year's team is once again capable of playing with the Big Boys or is it a sign the Yankees ain't what they used to be? Or a little of both?

Rain 2 Giants 0-- The Giants didn't score a run all weekend and this time they have good excuse, mainly because both Saturday and Sunday (a supposed double header) against Pittsburgh was rained out. The question we have is how could we tell they didn't play?
