Movie in the park
Grab a few friends, stuff a few tall boys and blankets into your bag and head over to Dolores Park at 8 for another the latest showing in the Dolores Park Movie Night series. Tonight's showing - Breaking Away, a cult classic bike movie about a team of local bikers who put together a killer racing team to battle the students of Indiana University. Whether you go for the movie or go for the people watching, movies in the park are always a good time - not to mention they're free! If you get a little hungry, keep your eyes peeled for Virginia, The Tamale Lady - she tends to make an appearance here. Dolores Park, 8 pm, 20th St and Dolores.

If a movie in the park isn't quite your bag, then head over to a different kind of scene at 330 Ritch. Tonight's band are The Photo Atlas [link: a indie quartet from Denver (think Fugazi meets At the Drive-In), along with resident DJs Omar, Nako and Aaron Axelsen. Giveaways from Filter music magazine negate the $8 cover charge and the show starts at 10pm. Stick around after the band for a dance party! Popscene 333 Ritch Street.
