It's Got to Be the Morning After
Warriors 126 Jazz 102- The big news isn't necessarily that the Warriors beat the Jazz, although the Jazz have a better record than the Golden State, but that the Clippers lost. Which means the Warriors are now tied with the Clippers for the last and final spot. The Clippers, however, own the tie breaker so they still have to lose one more than the Warriors do and there are only four games left in the season. Stephen Jackson led the way with 28 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Oh, and not to ruin anyone's parade, but the Warriors are still a team that is under .500. Pennant fever-- catch it.
Padres 1 Giants 0- Matt Cain, the Giant's Great White Pitching Hope, had a no hitter after six innings. In the seventh, he gave up a run. Great pitching, right? Of course not, he blew it. Doesn't Cain know he has to pitch shutouts with this team. Sheesh. Oh, and hey, there was a runner on second in the ninth inning with Pedro Feliz up. Feliz did his usual and worked the count until he finally got bested by Trevor Hoffman. Nah, just joking-- he swung at a pitch in the dirt.
White Sox 4 A's 1- The A's played their first home game of the season and wound up getting shut down by the White Sox. You know, only baseball could have a team by the name of White Sox and another with the name Red Sox. You don't see football having team names like that. All of which is one of the reasons we love baseball. Anyways, as bad as the A's offense was shut down, at least they managed to score a run.
