It's Got to Be the Morning After

You know who was fairly dominating? Jason Schmidt. Whatever happened to that dude? As for the Giants, they're 1-5 so far and just got swept by the hated Dodgers. Things are not happy in Giants world these days as fans are starting to get an early case of the dreads. What's the feeling out there? Bruce Jenkins writes that "If this were a play, it would be shutting down for good", and Gwen Knapp compares the team's offense to that of the Raiders. Grant over at McCovey Chronicles jokes that he's already working on the season's obituary which should be out at the end of July.

A's 2 Angels 1- Over in A's land, where Zito hardly seems to missed, they're celebrating a split in a four-game series against their rivals. Each game was decided by a run which says something about the nature of the games being played by both teams, mainly that it's the end of the first week of baseball and they're already playing pennant race type games. The Chron also adds that since 2002, they've played 101 times and the A's hold a one game advantage over the A's.
