Political Junkie: Gavin's Rubber, We're Glue

newsomdrudge.jpgUpdate: When we originally called this post "Gavin's Rubber, We're Glue," we didn't mean THAT kind of rubber. How the hell did we miss this? Check out the first few seconds of anti-Gavin gumshoe Dan Noyes's ABC 7 video -- what the heck's Gavin doing with that Channel 2 mike?

Thanks to a faithful reader (and you commenters!) who pointed it out, via the Drudge Report (which labels it: "CAUGHT ON TAPE: SF MAYOR SIMULATES ORAL SEX ON TV CREW'S STICK MIC."). And we just want to say that SFist Jon is making us run the picture, despite both of our better judgments to the contrary.

--Original post: The hotness that is Dan Noyes! Everyone who's anyone is totally crushing out!

Well, except for one certain someone -- check out the latest video footage of the ABC 7 I-Team at a mayoral "press conference" yesterday, where a certain light-blue-tied city executive studiously ignores all of Hot Dan's questions about deaths at Laguna Honda Hospital with an increasingly tight smile, finally culminating in a no-eye-contact clipped conversation where Gavin for some reason will only talk to Dan in the third person, about how he's not going to talk to him anymore.

Mature! We can't wait for the next confrontation, featuring Newsom going, "I know you are but what am I?"

Picture still from the ABC 7 I-Team Blog footage. Video's 6 minutes long.

Can't blame the Mayor ... I wouldn't talk to the guy either. Channel 7 is the homophobe's channel if I remember correctly, something about Bevan Dufty igniting the end of the world by parenting with a friend.

I can't blame the Mayor for not talking to this guy. He's kinda like CNN's Nancy Grace. Besides, Channel 7 is the homophobe's channel - sounding all Pat Robertson-ish about the end of the world coming due to gay City Supervisors becoming parents. Come on....

Can't wait to see how this behavior is explained. Is this dignified, honest, direct approach the fruits of his "sort of" rehab?

That was channel 7 anchor Pete Wilson who started the controversy about Bevan Dufty's family with comments on his radio show. But Gavin's beef is strictly with Dan Noyes. Gavin says at the end of the video that he's happy take any questions from ABC7, except from Dan Noyes--despite the fact that Noyes is ABC7's lead investigative reporter.

We here at GavinWatch are shocked, shocked! to find that Gavin Newsom reacted like a petulant child to a question from Dan Noyes. Does anyone remember this classic? Thank god history has shown that Dan was way out of bounds in asking Gavin about his drinking.

pic from the abcnews webcast of gavin sucking off a microphone is at the top of drudgereport.com!

Okay, maybe Dan should give Gavin an honest to goodness home cooked meal...seriously, Gavin is getting thinner and thinner every day. Eventually, even Jaime W will be able to see right thru him.

Oh That's right..Jaime W. you offically jumped the shark with your comments. You not only LOVE the ActLocallySF.org website but you apparently get TV and Radio personalities mixed up too...

Dear GAWD Almighty...all I can say is ...Hey look at that Tie!

What? No "clap?" Bummer....

I am really starting to think that this Gavin Newsom is just a shill for a new, kinder and gentler form of fascism we can all feel good about.
It's suspicious that the press walked away from The Crazy Girlfriend Debacle, when clearly the situation raises more than issues of integrity. And, now, I get to see him blatantly ignore a reporter?
And every single time I see something positive about this guy in the blog world, I assume it's his Disinformation Team.
Come on, San Franciscans are being really hypocritical in light of the oh-so-progressive view of themselves.

Seems like the Mayor has no original ideas of his own.All the way from green city. crime cameras to micking the mike and still lines from Chris Daly.

I agree Amanda. He should not elect himself arbiter of what questions or reporters are acceptable. There is a palpable air about him that suggests he is above the law. This same arrogance has been shown by his current girlfriend. Her comments were reprehensible. It is truly an insult to residents of the city to have to see her with the mayor still. They are not king and queen of the land ruling over the masses as their "let them eat cake" demeanor suggests. It's yet another example of do as I say, not as I do. They both seem to expect privacy and a respectful manner from the media, yet they exhibit little in return. Neither one of them should consider themselves beyond reproach.

If a particular chick would read, I called it the homophobe's channel - and that homophobe still works there according to the homophobe station's web site http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=bios&id=3282055

In particular about Dan Noise (intentional misspelling, chicky), I compared him to CNN's Nancy Grace.

The confusion is in your mind sweety.

What a silly mayor, he's gonna have to make peace and talk to Dan Noyes at some point. Especially if he's re-elected. Can't believe Newsom is still pissed off at Noyes for going after Conroy, covering Gleegate and the mayor's drinking problem...oh, and the whole Ragone/Nelson/Byorn saga.

Looks like Jen Siebel has taught him everything she knows...

Reminds me of a time of the banana

November 6th will be our mic.

Gavin came out as dyslexic years ago. Just Google "gavin newsom dyslexic"

Why do you think he avoids unscripted appearances???

You activists need to stop harassing the disabled.

"...San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom confessed Tuesday that he has to read newspaper articles twice to fully understand them. His notes to City Hall staffers contain lots of spelling mistakes. And he never can remember which is right -- "which" or "wich."

"I don't know either, man!" shouted 12-year-old Jeno Wilkinson, throwing up his arms in mock frustration. "You're not alone!"

Actually, Newsom had traveled to Charles Armstrong School in Belmont to tell Wilkinson and hundreds of his classmates that they are not alone in their struggles with dyslexia. Speaking to the students gathered in the auditorium, he ticked off several successful people who have faced the condition, including Dr. Seuss, Henry Ford, Cher -- and yes, the youngest mayor of San Francisco in 100 years.

"I still have dyslexia -- it doesn't magically go away. ... But it's OK. It gets a lot easier if you work hard," Newsom told them of the learning disability that makes reading, writing, spelling and speaking difficult because letters and sounds are jumbled. "
