Lock Up the Women and Children

alt1.jpg.w300h212.jpgThe Hell's Angels are throwing themselves a three day celebration in Oakland this weekend in honor of it being their 50th anniversary and it's going to be fabulous. There'll be a Tupperware party and a Sandra Bullock film festival plus such classes as "Fixing Your Hog," "How to Rekindle Romance with Your Old Lady While on the Road" and "The Semiotics of Tattoos."

The party will be held at the Angel's clubhouse at 4019 Foothill Blvd. in East Oakland and thousands are expected to attend. From all over the world too. The highlight will be a concert Friday night at Historic Sweet's Ballroom in Oakland with a special unnamed guest. We're thinking Celine Dion.

As for those who are worried about security, the Oakland police say they're calling in more cops to work the weekend but that the Angels have been more than cooperating this time around. In fact, the cops have said they've enjoyed working with them. Cops do say, however, that they are mainly concerned about the possibility that a a fight could break out between rival motorcycle gangs, mainly the Hells Angels and the Mongols Motorcycle Club.
