Breaking News from the SFist News Desk

070323_Alaska_flight_scare.jpgUpdate: Turns out everyone got punked as there was no bomb found. What happened was somebody phoned in a threat and before the plane could take off, security sprung into action and grounded the flight. Everything appears to be honky-dory and the flight took off a few hours after it was grounded.

An Alaska airlines plane has been evacuated at the Oakland Airport for suspicion of an explosive device on board. It's probably nothing as it's usually nothing but it's still kind of exciting.

As we write this, the plane is being towed around the tarmac and just now pulled up to the gate. How do we know this? NBC 11 is showing a live feed of all of this on their web site.

Don't you love the internets?

Right now, the action is about as exciting as the OJ police chase, except without the cops and wife-killing murderer being escorted by one of his football buddies, but things could get more exciting. Call it Airport '07.

We'll update you throughout the day.
