SFist Tonight
WoW Player Meet-up -- in RL!: If you didn't see the South Park episode or ever stumble upon the Big Blue Dress video while browsing YouTube at 3 am, you're way behind. World of Warcraft, with 8 million gamers subscribed internationally, is a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) affectionately known as Warcrack throughout the gaming community.
We won't bore you ... ahem, trouble you with the nitty gritty (not that we would know about the midnight battles in Gurubashi arena or anything), but if you're into Warcraft and are looking for fellow players, you oughta make your way down here 'round seven-ish for a drink and some geek-speak. Keep your eyes peeled for us, we'll be dreaming up new toons and sketching shortcuts from the Barrens to Tanaris in the corner. Starting at 7, going till 9pm, at the Lone Palm, 3394 22nd St in the Mission.
Mr. Smith's Whisky Club Tasting: After you geek-out, chic-out! St. Patrick's Day parties and after-parties are finally over -- put down the Jamie and try something a little different, at Mr. Smith's special event tonight at the super sleek tri-level speakeasy. This event will set you back $10, but we've paid double that for entry fee at a number of hot spots without tasting fine scotches and snacking on light appetizers. The organizers recommend RSPVing, so shoot an email to mrsmiths@maxiumproductions.com if you're planning on penciling in the event. And hey, if you don't like if, at least you can say you've tried it. 6:30-8:30pm, 34 7th Street in SOMA.
