Octavia Boulevard update
Poor little fellers. These recently-installed "soft-hit" posts continue taking the brunt of abuse from drivers who still make illegal turns at Market and Octavia.

We said we'd keep you informed about developments at the intersection of Market Street and the parking lot otherwise known as Octavia Boulevard. As tire tracks in this recent photo show, some drivers realize that there is no reason to fear these posts. We called for them as a temporary measure, so of course we applaud their installation. How are they holding up to the abuse? What more can be done?
See you after the jump
Here's a more recent shot, after we got done placing upended posts back to where they were installed. One of them is totally gone already.

Hey, how about a new set of posts? How much could they cost? Whoops, don't answer that. They're probably mil-specced to the max and cost $3000 each. We don't care. We want new ones. Or maybe a crew will show up tomorrow and build a proper island with a three-inch curb. Hopefully the city of S.F. will step up with more permanent and "concrete" measures soon. Expect good things. We'll keep you "posted".
