SFist Interviews Thom Moran of Bon Savants
We hope to visit Boston soon, and when we do, we hope Bon Savants will be our ambassadors. Read lead singer Thom Moran's hilarious answers to the below questions and listen to their catchy, shoegazy pop, and you'll see what we mean. They are also humanitarians at heart and requested that we link to The Pendulum Project.
Bon Savants are currently on tour and are stopping in SF tonight to play a sold-out show at Cafe Du Nord with Portland band Menomena, who were featured in SF Weekly and SFist Krissy's column this week. Both bands are heading to South By Southwest next week.
Special thanks to Thom and his thumbs for taking the time to answer these questions via one of those nifty, handheld devices while in transit.

What city have you enjoyed most on your tour and why?
Denver was great. It was our fist time playing there, which is always fun. everyone was friendly, and lots of folks knew the words.
What band do you love playing with the most?
The Wrens always inspire us to work even harder at connecting with our audience.
Best venue to play?
Schuba's in Chicago has always been good for us.
What do you like about the Boston music scene?
The constant stream of students through the city keeps both the bands and audiences fresh. Its like a different city every 4 years.
Got any crazy tour stories?
We stopped at Mt Rushmore En route to Denver. The park has a performance stage right at the base of the mountain, and we were joking about filming a live dvd there. Then this ranger comes up and starts talking with us and it turns out he does the booking for the stage, and he asks us if we wnt to perform on July 3. Stay tuned for "Bon Savants Live at Mt Rushmore"!
And now for the standards...

Favorite Bay Area Stereotype, and whether or not you buy into it
From an east coast perspective, that SF is the only place more liberal than Massachusetts. Frankly, MA isn't that liberal (hello Mitt Romney), so I'm guessing its true. And good for you.

For Boston, Great Scott in Allston.

Well, tonight i'll probably have about that, and I suppose i'll pocket the cash and steal Menomena's beer.
I have found/sold/bought the following on craigslist
A 1978 Buick Electra.
I want all the SFists out there to know
I love you. No, really. I was waiting for the perfect time to say it, but it just never came, so I'll just say it now, for the whole world to read. I. Love. You. Don't feel obligated to say it back, that's not what I want.
Tell us a San Francisco Story
My mother lived here from 1968 - 70, on Haight, with the manager of the Steve Miller Band as a roommate. Which means she will always be cooler than me, no matter what.

How do you type so much on that tiny keypad with your thumbs?
Who would you like to see interviewed in the future:
