That Chick: The whole thing just set me on edge and just when I was calm and enjoying myself, there's Gavin again and I got piqued again. When I heard Alex was there, I assumed Gavin wasn't, so it was all a bit of a surprise to me. I have a hard enough time staying in a good mood without tensing up every time Gav wanders by and gets mobbed by the proles.

...and still no one's giving much public recognition to Judith Klain, who's the person doing to real nitty-gritty work of managing Project Homeless Connect. oh well.

Okay, I'm not taking sides here or defending the Gav, but if he hadn't shown up at the event the press would have been all over that too. He would have been branded an insensitive jerk for being a no-show. You just can't win. I would have dashed too, poor Alex, that must have been awful for him.

Rachel, why did Gavin make you feel icky?

It is fact that Alex Tourk started, maintained, and lobbied for SF Connect Gavin really should not have been there at all. Project Homeless Connect isn't Gavin's but Alex's. So you can understand why Alex left, Gavin definately is crashing the party so to speak.

Don't let anyone make you feel icky..especially when you are volunteering. If SF Connect doesn't do it for you, try OneBrick.org they don't make you feel icky EVER they Rock!

That was a weird morning. Most of the people sitting near me didn't know who Alex was, but it made me all tense, esp. when Gavin started talking about him. When I saw Gav about an hour later I felt all icky again and had to leave. ~~~

Remember when San Francisco Magazine did a feature article on Gavin (Jan 06 issue for all the would be stalkers) and in the side bar a person is quoted as saying "Gavin doesn't remember birthdays" well, that proves it. Gavin, get your little "crack"berry working where it syncs with your Outlook Calendar ( not the one the new press guy puts out either) have your appointment secretary or Jennifer put on everyone's birthday and don't forget another birthday again...okay

Seriously, mine is March17th, your Irish and so you shouldn't forget ...yeah that is also Saint Patrick's Day yes two big celebrations on one day...I think you can handle it...
