I Feel The Earth, Move Under My Feet

So we were watching TV and listening to the wind whip around outside and then the wind got really loud and then everything started shaking and we thought, "hmmm, that's one really strong wind." Then it hit us, OH MY GOD, IT'S A MOTHERF_____ EARTHQUAKE.

Yep, it was an earthquake. According to KCBS, it was a 3.4 on the Richter Scale. Everything is fine, but BART right now has been stopped so the trains can be inspected. Officials say the trains will be running in about an hour. We'll update you if anything else happens.

We don't know about you, but we've felt more earthquakes in the past few months than we ever have. And yes, that makes us go "hmm...."

Really? I didn't feel anything down at the Southwest edge of the city. For that matter, I haven't felt anything at all in the past couple months. Not even a wiggle.

are most of you guys not from the bay area?. . . 'cuz after an earthquake most people i know ask, "you feel that?" and someone else says, "yup" and then the first person kinda shrugs and goes back to whatever it was he/she was doing. . . oh, and maybe checks google news to see how big it was. . .

in fact, i think the only time i've met anyone say anything in all caps about an earthquake was when i was living with a brit and an aussie in mexico city. . .

i'm not trying to troll, i just kind of assumed that most of the sfist staff were born and raised in the bay area for some reason, but now that i think about it i suppose there's no good reason to think that. . .

All that for a 3.4? Echoing bloopy, where are y'all from, because it sure doesn't seem to be California.

Well, maybe I exagerated for effect but there has been an awful lot lately and maybe it's because where I was at that particular moment, but there's been a few that seemed more rumbling than normal.

Since you asked, I didn't grow up here although I've spent a lot of time in California. Luckily, I've missed most of the big ones (knock on wood) and haven't been through too many. Which brings up what I wrote above-- there's been more in the past couple of months than I've felt in years and years of living here.
