i live right in the middle of western addition, and yeah recently there has been alot of shootings and deaths. having more police on foot helps but we also need activities, boys and girls clubs or something ,the kids need possitive things to get into cause believe me when you grow up in a place where it seems like you have no other choices this is the end result for most.

there are lots of issues going into the increase of violence that isn't easily taken care of by just a few more officers. It's a drug gang turf war in which the customers are the same but the mobile pharmacists are increasing. 1st major problem is that witnesses in the area are usually part of the problem. It's a very small world out there and people know people. Some of those people's jobs are to quiet witnesses. It's a huge mess that is a multi-layered onion.

From what I hear police were in the process of arresting some thug at Rose and Webster, when a vehicle drove by and fired a number of shots. No one was arrested.

I think you mean "Police chief Heather Fong". She may be legion, but she's not a whole commission by herself (or even a commissioner).
