SFist Watches: Your Locals On Reality TV

Previously on "Survivor: Fiji" our two locals made it through the first week, albeit one (Sylvia) was stuck on an island full of snakes, and the other (Yau-Man) knew he'd be a target before long.

Post-tribal council Ravu was reduced to leaf-licking to get themselves some water, and Yau-Man saw his coconut-opening skills being challenged by the tribe's younger men. Meanwhile, the Moto tribe was living in relative luxury with hammocks, a couch, and cutlery--and a complete klutz named "Boo" who managed to, in the course of one day, stab himself in the eye with some bamboo, slice through his hand and knee with an axe, and fall off a hammock.

Sylvia came back to the Ravu camp, and upon greeting her, Yau-Man tried to be sly and get a look into her bag to see if she had found the immunity idol. Little did he know, but the Hii was actually hidden somewhere in the camp. People in the tribe seemed a little indifferent to Sylvia's arrival, especially when she didn't show up wielding a huge flaming torch, or at least some flint. Basically, everyone hated her bossiness. So much for her plan to remain in the background!

After finally locating some sustenance in the form of a hidden pineapple plant, the Ravu tribe learned an immunity/reward challenge was coming up. And once again, we can't be bothered to recount the paddling, gathering, and constructing that went on, but the one key factor was Erica's screaming and freaking out during the puzzle portion of the event. Ravu, and our locals, lost. No water, no fire, no nothing for them!

Back at camp, the plotting began. Who to send home? The obvious choice was Sylvia, who everyone perceived as bossy, and because of her exile during the first night at camp, was a bit of an outsider. But because of Erica's freakout during the immunity challenge the target shifted a bit to her.

Tribal council. Erica was called out for losing her cool during the challenge. Sylvia admitted she felt like an outsider, and others admitted she was a bossy Betty. However, shrieking was deemed less tolerable than bossiness, and Sylvia survived another week.
