Day Around The Bay
--They've arrested the guy who said he attacked Elie Wiesel. Gleegate attackers still at large.
--Will you be underwater when global warming comes?
--The only family members at James Kim's well-attended public memorial were wife Kati Kim (with their two children) and James's sister Eva.
--Gavin Newsom's approval numbers are still in the 70% range, but someone's been trying to break into his house.
--There's more human bones in the Santa Cruz mountains.
--An interview with Survivor Sylvia's husband on her game strategy.
--This "South of the Border" party at Santa Clara University sounds a little offensive (as does a previous party, "Fresh Off The Boat").
--SF School Board meetings take too long (and hey, how come Newsom goes to their board meetings?).

I'd love to see the Newsom poll from Barnes, Mosher, Whitehurst, Lauter & Partners.
How does that 70% break down? Are they all strongly committed to voting for Newsom or are they open to vote for another candidate? In other words, is Newsom just a paper tiger dreamboat?
Aw c'mon--are you really going to believe a poll from BMW?
rita,
Do you even realize that a short 4 or 5 years ago that absolutely no publication would print a poll without the questions and the demographic samplings included? Now, you get push polls with no observable and measurable data and the largest circulation newspaper in town publishes it. The question that drew a 70% approval could have been:
"Would you approve of the Mayor if he
rescued a baby froma burning building?"
I'm serious. They won't tell you what they asked and in what context and people publish the shit as science anyway. Well, people who are paid by the same demographic that elected Newsom print it anyway.
Happy Presidents' Day
We got any future presidents around here?
None I can see,
