Going to 4th Street in Berkeley? Gutenberg of Bunrab has pics of two entrees from Eccolo. Chopped salad or Niman gooey and delish cheeseburger? Your choice.

Does your I'm-a-zillionaire fantasies ever have you owning a restaurant? Not just any restauarant, of course.

Dive would divide time between country and town, and take over the Golden Coffee Shop. Breakfast goodies and other diner fare and Chinese food, what could be better?

Any worthy diner stacks up aces in the pancake department. We're always on the lookout for good pancakes. There's a newish blog/site called menuism devoted to finding the best Bay Area pancake. Interesting idea, but they need more restaurants listed. Voting means you may win fifty bones or other prizes. We don't want the prize of make your own energy bar mix. Sorry, but that sounds boring and we eat chocolate when we want energy.

Dessert becomes a challenge when you are avoiding eggs, sugar, and gluten. Tea and Cookies was pleasantly surprised to find a brownie recipe from a Martha Stewart episode that turned out all chocolately and tasty. Kudos to the NYC Babycakes Bakery, where the recipe is from.

Sounds like reading Michael Pollan's latest in the NY Times got Eats depressed. Eats muses and takes action-turning to Spanish goat cheese and vino. It's a good solution to the "Omnivore's Depression."
