I was starting to feel sorry for Peter Ragone this morning, but then I remember he brought all of this on himself. He had it coming anyway, considering how he's treated the press & bloggers and smeared Newsom's adversaries. Plus, I have a hard time feeling sorry for an overpaid flack pulling in 6 figures.

Goddamn, Rita. Did you just set the record for most links in a single post? That's some exhaustive sourcing. SFgate's NWZCHIK blog just chimed in also. GavinWatch has just posted our take on SFistGate. Peter (or Byorn or whoever you're calling yourself today), we all know you're lying. Don't you know the cover up is always worse than the crime? Fess up, Peter.

Looks like Matier and Ross wrote about the story in their column for today's paper. Jan 31, 2007 Matier & Ross Ragone denied that he was posting under fake names, and insisted that Web poster John Nelson is a real person -- actually a close family friend. Indeed, Nelson must be a very good friend, given that some of the postings have gone out from Ragone's home before 8 a.m. "What can I say, we had a nerd attack,'' Ragone said. "I've learned my lesson." Can anyone explain to me what a "nerd attack" is?
