Here are two good web sites that you should enjoy. They don't really have that much in common, but they're both good.
First up is Menutopia. Ever want to go to a restaurant but not sure if they'd have anything you'd like? Or want to plan ahead in advance? You could go to Citysearch but we've often found Citysearch to be rather a crappy, not very user friendly site to go to. And then you have to hope the place not only has a web site but a menu on the web site. Well, it's Menutopia to the rescue. The site has menus of a lot of restaurants in the city divided by ethnic cuisine,nd type of restaurants, and neighborhood. No, not every restaurant is listed (that would be too hard to do) but we were' surprised by the amount of restaurants that were listed.
And now for something completely different, mainly something MUNI related. You know that howling, piercing banshee-like noise that comes on the N Judah or the J Church whenever somebody gets too close to the door? Well, somebody has had enough and in true internet fashion, decided to do something, about it mainly set up an online petition. Of course, there's a thousand, neigh million of these suckers from everything to the war to the cancellation of TV shows (we're still upset our petition on the canceling of MTVs "Becoming" never worked) but you never know. We do hate that sound.

We're actually taking suggestions from citizens of Our City for what the replacement sound should be. Feel free to weigh in with your suggestions.
Me, I kinda think of that sound as the "idiot detector" usually making noise because Some Idiot is trying to get on when the doors are almost shut.
Menu Pages has a lot more menus online: http://sanfrancisco.menupages.com/
To find other restaurants in the city you can visit sanfrancisco.menupages.com and search by type of cuisine or region of the city. They also list full menus and reviews. It's pretty much fantastic.
Menutopia is much easier on the eyes than Menupages, that's for sure. I'm also really digging the search...makes it so easy to get right to the restaurant you want.
Wow, thanks for the great writeup, Jon! In the spirit of David Cross, I'm writing on behalf of Menutopia.
At Menutopia, it's our goal to maintain the most current restaurant info and menus. We actually rely on our users to let us know when something needs fixing, so if you ever see anything that's missing or needs updating, we're all ears!
We also make sure all of our content is optimized for our users (not for advertisers), so you're never more than 2 clicks from a menu. Just try the smart search once and tell me you can go back to other dumb searches.
Now let's see some restaurant reviews, San Francisco!
Three points:
1. Menupages has 4347 menus to Menutopia's 2011. I'm not a math expert, but that's more than twice the amount.
2. I clicked on all eight (8!) of Menutopia's "Most Clicked Restaurants" for Downtown SF (SNOB, La Parrilla, Aladdin, etc), and NONE OF THEM even had a menu! I think this is false advertising: a purported menu site that doesn't have menus! Might as well use Citysearch or Yelp. At least Menupages has menus for every restaurant they put on their site.
3. Menupages and Yelp seem to be more up-to-date. Just looking at Menutopia's front page, Winterland has been closed for months. And it wasn't exactly a low-profile closing.
