It's Got to Be the Morning After

Last night, we went to last night's Warriors/Cavs game, a game the Warriors lost in overtime. Now, we'll let Basketball Chris do the analysis and post-game wrap up, but we wanted to make an observation of our own. Mainly, that we went to see Lebron and we were disappointed. But not surprised.

Having been to a bunch of Warriors games over the years, we've noticed something about teams that come into the Oracle to play the Warriors, mainly that in a long and often times irrelevant NBA season, most teams use the Warriors to take it easy. We've seen a bunch of really good teams kind of half-ass the game, playing just enough to win (the Spurs and the Pacers) and we've seen a bunch of teams bench their best players (the Sixers). In this case, a tired and injured Lebron basically took the night off, even missing both two free throws and a last second shot to ensure that the game went into overtime. Star players are supposed to make those kind of shots. But not Lebron, not last night He was playing the Warriors, why should he care that much?

There are many reasons to root for the Warriors to play well. One of them is so we could actually see other basketball teams give it their all and see a good basketball game for once.

-The Chronicle continues to look back at the '82 Niners with more stories of injured and depressed Niners as well as another look back at the Glory Days. It's good stuff, actually, as the after-effects of playing professional football is becoming a bigger and bigger story.

-Sharks sing the Blues and go off into the NHL All Star game with a loss.

-The Merc takes a look at the NHL at half-time.

-Barry missed Fan Fest, of course and Brian Sabean wishes he could have to.

-Cal men losesto Oregon but the Cal women beat Oregon. Got that?

-And the Stanford women beat Oregon too, this time Oregon State.

-What's up with the A's and all those rumored off-season moves.

-Inside the Oakland Raiders grades this year's big coaching changes.

More crappy photos after the break.
