While we were at the symphony last night, our partner in crime mentioned an interesting event coming up tomorrow that we'd thought we'd pass along.

The SF Public Library, in conjunction with its James C. Hormel Gay and Lesbian Center, is sponsoring a free event tomorrow (Sunday Jan. 21) from 2-4 p.m., to promote an anthology called "Return to the Caffe Cino," which is a collection of essays, plays, and reminiscences from a group of gay and lesbian Greenwich Village bohos from the 50s and 60s who used to convene at a small cafe on Cornelia Street and ended up launching Off-Off Broadway theater in New York. Veterans from that scene include Edward Albee, Sam Shepard, and Bernadette Peters, among others.

Tomorrow's event, in the main library auditorium, promises to be an engaging event, with readings, thoughts from the editors about the cafe and its times, and a performance of Lanford Wilson's "The Madness of Lady Bright" featuring local drag performer Trauma Flintstone. Theater history buffs should check it out!
