Your Commute: One If By Land, Two If By Sea

20ferry.1841.jpgFerry service to and from the Alameda Main Street Terminal will be shut down this weekend as crews will be out trying to figure out a problem with the pier that holds the walkway. As you might well imagine, having a pier that can't really support a walkway might cause problems with people getting on and off the pier. Apparently, the problem is with the piling the supports the walkway which is now out of alignment.

If you were planning on taking the Oakland/Alameda Ferry, officials are recommending you take the Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry which obviously goes to Alameda. Thus the name.
