SFist Blotter

joseph_metwally1.jpgWe already shared our thoughts with you about the spate of murders this weekend -- so we're discussing other things in today's Blotter.

Left in SF tipped us off about a missing senior from Galileo High named Joseph Metwally -- he hasn't been seen since December 14. He's 17, 5'7', 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black beanie, a black shirt, ECKO jeans, and black running shoes. Call 911 if you see him, or contact the missing persons bureau at 415-558-5508. He's pictured at the left.

Someone stole half a million dollars of wine out of a celler in Atherton. The criminals knew what they were doing -- they bypassed the two-buck Chucks and other lesser-valued wines in favor of the cellar's "cult" wines, such as a $6000 magnum of 1959 Petrus and a "difficult-to-assemble set of Bordeaux wines representing an unbroken line of more than 20 years of French harvests."

And remember that fancy lodge in Inverness that burned down over Christmas with Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal in it? Employees, family, and friends of the owners came out for a vigil for the lodge last Sunday. Turns out the owners didn't have enough insurance to cover the millions of dollars of antiques and business income damaged, and they'll need to get a bunch of permits before they could reopen for business anyways.

A 17 YEAR OLD SAN FRANCISCO CHILD HAS BEEN MISSING FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS?! No media coverage or public concern as to what might have happened to him? Is there more to the story? What am I missing? Doesn't anyone else find this odd?
