The battle over that athletic center at Berkeley took another turn as a camp out in the oaks that was set up to support all protestors up in the trees was rousted by the cops this morning. According to reports, around 6 or so, the cops came to chase everyone away and then came in and swept up all the camping equipment and supplies, supposedly including people's laptops. Now that's just mean.
The cops are saying that the encampment had become a public safety concern. Protestors, however, said that they weren't camping out, they were just there 24 hours a day.
Ever since UC Berkeley announced plans to build an athletic center near Memorial Stadium, about six people went up into these old oaks by the stadium to try and save them from being cut down. The people around the trees who gave support to the tree sitters numbered about four. They are now threatening to sue, which would bring the total number of lawsuits against this new athletic training facility to five.
This is going rather well, isn't it?

I heard the maples want more sunlight, but the oaks ignore their pleas.
They should just keep all the trees equal by hatchet, axe and saw
And where, where were the Ents during all this?
