Hummers!

No, not that kind.

No, not that kind either.

We're talking about the Allen's and Anna's hummingbirds found in the Bay Area. Some are here all year round but others only visit for six months before they migrate away. These onery critters are easy to find at the S.F. Botanical Gardens (aka Strybing) in Golden Gate Park. They can be especially beautiful when sunlight reflects off of their mantles, revealing deep reds, purples and oranges. More are on the way soon so keep a look out for them!

I see these in the garden of some cracker new my house. They're pretty amazing.
