Au revoir, Annemarie

ba_conroy02.jpgIt's being reported that everyone's favorite whipping girl, Annemarie Conroy, has resigned as of this morning. Conroy was the Executive Director of Emergency Services but was recently demoted mainly for the sin of having no real experience doing anything emergency service related. After being demoted, the Board of Supes then pulled the financing for her recently created position. She was so popular that Aaron Peskin couldn't even say anything nice about her leaving; saying instead "there was no resignation. Her position evaporated." Ouch.

Conroy's always been an interesting story. She was Frank Jordan’s goddaughter and for whatever reason just seemed to go from job to job in city government year after year without any explanation or reason. She even served on the board for a couple of years. The only reason why she got the job running the Emergency Services department because Gavin moved her from running the Treasure Island when he pulled his infamous "triple play" (how'd that move work out for ya, Gavin?) . Now it appears she finally has to go out and actually get a real job.

Annemarie was never more than a political hack appointed to jobs to enrich herself. The fact that her lack of qualifications could have an impact on say, oh, I dunno A MAJOR EARTHQUAKE IN SAN FRANCISCO, that might put us in the position of being the NEXT New Orleans....welll you just have to ask yourself, why did someone defend her relentlessly and over the concerns of a world in which a 9/11 or a 1908 could happen.....why?

Why?

Why do that?

Just wondering....

Why do that?

Perhaps because it's San Francisco?
