Swells by the Numbers
SFist Rita is on a well-deserved holiday break so we apologize ahead of time for this week's suckage.
Total number of people pictured in this week's Swells society column: 48
Total number of people pictured whose names we recognize: A lot- It's like a Swells Best of this week (Gaviffer, Lars Ulrich, Stephen Jenkins, Willie Brown, Gordon Getty, Stanlee Gatli, Denise Hale, Jo Schulman Silver, Amy Tan, Ann and Gordon Getty, Carole Shorenstein Hayes, Christine Pelosi, Anne Caen, Charlotte Mailliard Shultz, Vanessa and Billy Getty, and Trevor and Alexis Traina).
Minority count: 5-- and Willie appears twice. There's also a Japanese person pictured, but we only see their "holiday obi" so we're not sure if that counts or not.
Hats, capes, tiaras: A "Peña Pachama" dancer is wearing some sort of funky hat while they "samba" with Willie. Sadly, no capes or tiaras.
Plunging necklines: 2, Jennifer Seibel and Willie's date, Sonya Molodetskaya. The usually reliable Vanessa Getty was shot from her head up.
Getty v. Traina: Getty 4, Traina 2. Which is what happens when the title is "Getty a go-go" and is about the 73rd birthday of "philanthropist and composer" Gordon Getty. FYI- if you want to check out his choral work go here. Sadly, we couldn't find "Plump Jack" the opera on iTunes.
Gordon Getty's Next Work: "The Raven," based on the work by Edgar Allen Poe
Theme of Party: Winter Wonderland
Is there ice sculptures? Oh hell yes-- "two 12-foot-long sculpted ice bars"
The "Boy, Metallica Has Come a Long Way" Moment of the Week: Lars complains that the "ice tables" made his drinks slide around.
Food served: Kobe beef and Kobe pork loin, Steelhead salmon and lobster rolls.
Number of Holiday Cards Gavin sent out: None. He partnered up with Protocol Chief Charlotte Mailliard Shultz. Remember, Gavin, it's the thought that counts.
