A bit of context: Schefter covered the Broncos as a reporter for 15 years. He helped co-write books with Denver's Head Coach Mike Shanahan, Bronco burn-quick-burn-bright running back Terrell Davis, and the book he put on his NFL.com resume -- "Romo: My Life On The Edge," with the steroid-addled former SF/PHI/DEN/OAK linebacker Bill Romanowski.

Not so proud of that last one, Adam? We're sure it sold more than the other two books combined.

During the post-game show on the NFL Network, the Raider camp fired back this terse press release:

"Adam Schefter has always been a false rumor monger with respect to the Raiders and anti-Raider based upon his relationship with Denver and with Mike Shanahan. No decisions have been made relative to the 2007 Oakland Raiders nor will they be made for some time. Adam Schefter could not have gotten his information from a 'reliable source' because there's only one reliable source and he doesn't trust Adam."

Wow, zing!
