A SFist Holiday Gift Guide Do Over
We're really sorry to have to say this, but we're going to have to re-run one of our SFist Holiday Gift Guides, the "Year of the Dog" book contest. Unfortunately, some evil bug sent by some evil spammer got into our system and pretty much junked the contest. We've tried fixing it and we've tried using every backdoor method we could think of, but we just can't get in there to select a winner. So for those who entered, we completely and totally apologize. So for those who can't remember, those who might be interested, or for those who want to remind themselves of what they entered before, here's the info:
It's a book by author Oliver Chin and illustrated by Jeremiah Alcorn and part of the author's Tales of the Chinese Zodiac series. The book is described thusly: "2006 is the Year of the Dog! Born on New Year's Day, the puppy Daniel explores the world with his parents and the girl Lin, and learns how to become 'man's best friend.'"
It's the perfect book for the nieces and nephews for whom you're probably racking your brains out to find a gift for and it's a great way of learning about Asian culture.
