Bye Bye Nativity Sheep

nativity_scene.jpgThere's bad news coming out a church in West Portal-- two sheep and a lamb have been pilfered from a Nativity Scene. Yep, what we have here are a bunch of sheep stealers. The church in question is the West Portal Lutheran Church at 200 Sloat Blvd and the nativity scene in question had at one point four animals in the background. Now it has one. All things considering, it could be worse as stealing things from Nativity Scenes is quite common during the holidays. These thieves even stole Baby Jesus! We don't think we're exaggerating to say this will definitely make little Baby Jesus cry (unless he's Ninja Baby Jesus).

Of course, the question is what would somebody want with a couple of fake, plastic animals? Says Jan Lundquist, the church's secretary, "I can't imagine this is something you auction off on eBay, but who would know?'' Our guess is it's probably just some sort of drunken prank. Either that, or they're Scottish.

This story reminds us of one our favorite nativity scene comic pieces ever, the one for "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in which Larry winds up getting in fistfight with Joseph after he called Mary hot.

We love that show.

When it comes to sheep stealing, you should be very suspicious if any of your friends are Welsh.
