Upper Playground's Andrew Revelli

In case you’ve yet to clue-in SFist loves our local merchants. We love how innovative they are in their products and in their ability to create a brand. We also get a good dose of civic pride when we’re shopping in other cities and catch one of our locals made big. Andrew Revelli is one of the proprietors of Upper Playground, a local store and brand that has helped foster the careers of artists like Sam Flores and has become known for its urban wear. Upper Playground is also responsible for one of the most generous SFist holiday give aways ever, as the lucky recipients of a duffle crammed w/ hoodies, tshirts, and other goodies can attest. If you haven’t already fallen in love with all things Upper Playground (including Mr. Revelli) Read on. We think you’ll be sold by what this Oakland native has to say about local music, art, and stuff to do. At the very least, take his fashion advice seriously, or buy his Morning Breath hat here.

Hey thanks for that bag stuffed full of T's and hoodies. Since I am a rather large person I gave them away to the homeless, and the real small ones to the kid in my building. I did keep the bag and The art book that I found in the side pocket.
Thanks again.

I have a love and hate relationship with this place.

Although they sell the freshest most overpriced post-hoodie hoodies and tricked out hiphop fetish gear, the uberhipsters that work the counters are complete tools. How could anyone not want to walk around the block to Lower Haters (lowerhater.com) after any sort of minor interaction with those punks?

I don't expect to be drooled on, but but jesus it is the holidays - Enough with the customer hating! Please develop some mad customer service skills, or find a job where you don't have to, like actually help people out.

For reals, this is the last time I buy those trendy sweaters with the ASL Porno-signs for my friends in Ohio... The last time. I swear.
