It's another installment of.... Who's! Attacking! Newsom! Now! Where we compile all the negative things people are saying about the San Francisco mayor and report it in bullet form! We'll run a Who's Defending Newsom Now post next, as soon as we find someone defending Newsom, besides Peter Ragone. So here's the list!
--Sean Elsbernd!: Newsom's erstwhile ally on the Board of Supes in District 7, Elsbernd is irritated that Newsom's new "let's fix the potholes" pledge in his State of the City address has resulted in a large number of citations for homeowners in his district.
--Aaron Peskin!: Board of Supes president Aaron Peskin called Newsom "immature" for refusing to attend Question Time.
--Steve Jones!: The Bay Guardian political editor worked hard to find all the following people willing to attack Newsom! We count three by name and at least two who went anonymous. The summary -- not only are the progressives mad at Newsom (par for the course), but the moderates are mad now too because Newsom's lack of attention to the city has allowed the crazy Board of Supes to dominate local politics. Quote of the day: "People approve of the mayor like they approve of the color beige."
--....and The Board of Supes!: They refused to approve Newsom's former Homeland Security chief Annemarie Conroy golden parachute job, and they rejected his nominee for the SF Redevelopment Agency. Plus, a committee is going to decide whether or not to list Gavin Newsom on the Board agenda every month for Question Time until he shows up.
