It's Got to Be the Morning After

-So everyone is talking about what's up with the Barry. Not only has he not been signed yet, but he rolled into the winter meetings with an entourage in tow looking for a job. We get a kick out of the idea of seeing Barry standing outside some hotel handing out resumes to any GM who walks by. The Giants, as you can well imagine, were not happy but they continued to talk to his agent nevertheless.

Why he'd do all this is pretty simple, actually. Picture Barry and the Giants as a fiery couple. They've had some good years and some not good years and they both decide to take a break. The Giants go out, go out on a few dates with other people, and tell everyone they're no longer interested in Barry . This makes Barry all riled up. So to get back, Barry gets all ho'ed up and dirty dances with a whole bunch of other people right in front of the Giants to get back at them.

Oh, when will these crazy kids get back together again? As Phoebe would say, the Giants are Barry's lobster.

-The role of Frank Thomas will now be played by Mike Piazza.

-The Giants meanwhile sign Bengie Molina. We're so excited we could barely contain ourselves. Ann Killion says the Giant's strategy is getting a bit musty.

-The Dodgers, meanwhile, woo Jason Schmidt. Seeing Schmidty in Dodger blue is going to hurt.

-Raiders special team's coach the latest to snap. Shell, meanwhile ponders if anyone would ever want to play for the Raiders while others speculate if their offense is the Worst. Offense. Ever.

-Tim Kawakami dreams of Ron Artest. Or how's about Allen Iverson?
