We've been hearing quite a bit about this new book Worldchanging and its nationwide promotional tour, which hits SF tonight at 111 Minna (111 Minna St. @ 2nd). Worldchanging: A User's Guide for the 21st Century is a 608-page compendium focused on building a livable, prosperous future, and exploring consumer consciousness, non-toxic homes, socially responsible investing and much more, it being 608 pages and all. Tonight's party celebrates not only the book, but also the local community of people and organizations who are engaged in worldchanging work. (6pm - late)
And speaking of consumer consciousness, we're getting into this buy local movement in a big way, so here's tonight's local shopping opportunity: a Holiday Trunk Sale at the Velo Rouge Cafe (798 Arguello Blvd @ McAllister). From the P.R. "Come support and enjoy local artists creating jewelry, letter press stationery, book binding, divine imported French children’s clothing, handbags, signed copies of Time Off, The Leisure Guide to San Francisco, and information on the wooden Skuut bikes for kids." Free wine and nibbles! (4-8pm)

Actually, I think the 111 Minna launch party is supposed to go all night, not end at 8:00.
