Since SFist Ced's taking a little break from concerts, we're now on classical music duty around these parts. And we're very excited to say that our first Philistine classical concert review's going to be for violinist (and friend of Nicolas Cage) Hilary Hahn, who'll be performing the Korngold concerto this upcoming Wednesday through Friday with the SF Symphony.
The Korngold incorporates various movie themes from 1930s Hollywood, and the symphony will also be performing Aaron Copland's Music for Movies and a suite by Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly. (We don't think the Kodaly has any movie connection.)
For those of you who love your romantic violin but can't make it to the symphony those nights, Ms. Hahn will also be playing at the SF Amoeba on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Maybe you'll see Nicolas Cage too?

Need a date by any chance? The Kodaly suite is actually taken from a full-length opera, "Harry Janos," which has lots of boring Hugarian dialogue interspersed with marvelous music. I'm looking forward to it.
Free concert at amoeba? Sounds good to me. Have fun, Rita.
