A snowstorm hit Tahoe and other outlying areas today and while it's a huge pain for drivers up there, it's all good for ski resorts. So far this season has been far below the normal amount of rainfall and as a result, only a few resorts are open, mainly with man-made snow. That's why today's snowfall is a big help. In fact, many of the resorts are saying they're going to be able to open up a few more runs over the weekend.
As for how the season is looking, experts looked into their Magic 8 ball and after getting "Ask Again Later" several times, have deemed the upcoming season as being possibly "exceptional." This is based mainly on there being a good rush of people already up there. It also goes without saying that with this year supposedly being yet another Year of El Nino, it'll mean more snow for the mountains. More snow equals more people which equals everyone's happy.
Except of course, for those of us who don't ski.
